India launches world’s first Doctor-Led AI healthcare ecosystem iLive Connect

India has launched iLive Connect, the world’s first doctor-led, AI-powered healthcare ecosystem designed to provide round-the-clock medical monitoring from the comfort of a patient’s home. The system aims to transform post-hospital care and chronic disease management, particularly for senior citizens and high-risk patients.

Developed by cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Rahul Chandola and senior interventional cardiologist Dr Viveka Kumar, iLive Connect functions like a personal ICU at home. It uses an FDA- and CE-approved wearable biosensor patch worn on the chest and a wristband to continuously track vital health parameters in real time. These include two-lead ECG, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, body temperature, blood pressure trends, physical activity, and heart rate variability.

The data is transmitted to a secure cloud platform and monitored 24/7 by specialised doctors stationed at a central medical command centre. At the first sign of a potentially harmful physiological change, doctors alert the patient and family within two minutes and provide immediate medical guidance.

Dr Chandola said the system uses AI-driven predictive analytics to detect subtle changes in the body well before symptoms appear, significantly reducing hospitalisation. Dr Viveka Kumar added that continuous data analysis allows doctors to make informed decisions, preventing medical emergencies.

A 10-week observational study of 410 patients showed a 76% reduction in hospital readmissions, with early detection of cardiac, metabolic, and post-discharge complications. The technology is particularly beneficial for elderly patients living alone and those recently discharged from hospitals.
